Johnny Blassingame’s practice focuses on representation of insurers and other businesses in civil litigation, regulatory matters and a broad spectrum of legal issues. Mr. Blassingame manages the firm's litigation practice throughout Oklahoma and Texas in both federal and state court.
Mr. Blassingame grew up in Tuscola, Texas, graduating from Jim Ned High School in 1998. He attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude. After college, Mr. Blassingame attended the University Of Oklahoma College Of Law and began his career with Kerr, Irvine, Rhodes & Ables as a summer law clerk after the conclusion of his first year of law school in 2004. He worked for the firm throughout the remainder of his law school career until he graduated in 2006. Mr. Blassingame joined the firm as an associate in September of 2006 and became a partner in March of 2014.
Since joining the firm in 2006, Mr. Blassingame has successfully represented the firm’s clients in a wide variety of civil disputes ranging from first party bad faith cases to multi-defendant federal class actions. Having both trial and appellate practice experience enables him to evaluate client's cases and give them the in-depth analysis they need to make informed decisions. He also regularly advises insurers on risk mitigation in an effort to minimize their litigation.
In addition to managing the firm’s litigation practice, Mr. Blassingame counsels the firm’s clients on a wide range of topics including contract drafting and interpretation, and regulatory compliance.
